What you’ll find in the Terminals
The emergency buttons are linked to our central emergency response centre and are available in the following places:
- All accessible washrooms.
- Every elevator.
- Courtesy phones in Terminals and parking garages.
- On every car of the train between Terminals (Terminal Link).
- All escalators and moving sidewalks.
If an evacuation is needed
- We make announcements in audio and visual formats. There are also strobe lights in key locations to alert passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- To help people with mobility issues leave safely, we use EVAC-CHAIRS (stair chairs) that let staff assist someone down stairs during an emergency.
- If you’re boarding or disembarking an aircraft and there is no passenger boarding bridge, we use a Medical Lift (Ambulift) for stretchers, and AVI-Ramps for passengers needing wheelchair assistance.
- We have visual translation services with American Sign Language accessible to our airport first responders to assist passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing.
