Scam alert!

We’re aware of a scam where passengers are being asked to pay a $40 non-refundable fee for filing a Lost and Found item report at Toronto Pearson. As a reminder, there is no cost to submit a Lost and Found item report at Toronto Pearson. However, there may be a cost associated with shipping a lost item back to its owner.

Report a lost item

Visit the lost and found office in Terminal 1 or submit a report online.

You will receive a confirmation email with a report number. We'll search our inventory for 30 days and notify you of the result by email.

Items are held for 30 days from the date they are turned in. We do not hold any of the following items:

  • passports
  • Nexus cards
  • perishables
  • neck pillows
  • items lost on airplanes (including checked luggage)
  • items lost on public transit 

Pick up a found item

You will receive an email with instructions to verify ownership of the item if we find something matching the description of your report.

To pick up your found item, you can:

  • visit the lost and found office in Terminal 1 during operating hours
  • send an authorized friend or family member to pick up the item for you
  • arrange and pay for shipping
Bring valid government photo ID when picking up your item.

Lost passports or Nexus cards

Lost passports of all nationalities are turned into the Canada Border Services Agency. To claim a lost passport, call their Terminal 1 office at 905-676-3640 or their Terminal 3 office at 905-612-5416.

Lost Nexus cards found at the airport are turned into the Canada Border Services Agency. To enquire about a lost Nexus card, contact their Pearson Airport Nexus office at 905-676-3477.

Lost luggage and items lost on aircraft

If you've left an item on your flight, or have lost checked baggage, report this directly to the airline you travelled with.

Items lost on public transit

If you left something on a train or bus while travelling to or from the airport, contact the relevant transit agency:

Some items may be excluded from the 30 day retention policy and held for 48 hours, at our discretion.
