Cranes and aerial devices - Legal Disclaimer

Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) crane evaluation is based on information provided in your application as of the date of this permit and is valid for a period specified in the permit, subject to any legislative changes or updates to global conventions. We ask that you notify us immediately if there has been any change to the information provided in the application or if you will not be proceeding with the work as planned so we can update our records. Our assessment is limited to the impact of the proposed physical structure on the air navigation system and installations and obstacle limitation surfaces; it neither constitutes nor replaces any approvals or permits required by Transport Canada, other Federal Government departments, Provincial or Municipal land use authorities or any other agency from which approval is required. This assessment should also not be construed as an evaluation of the safety, feasibility, or structural integrity of the proposed crane and does not represent a certification of compliance with any construction standards or regulations. We have prepared this document for your exclusive use. It may not be reproduced in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of the GTAA, or used or relied upon in whole or in part by other parties for any purposes whatsoever.

We do not guarantee the processing time for the permit and take no responsibility for any delays to your construction as a result of a permit not being issued in a timely matter.

The criteria upon which we evaluate your application is subject to change from time to time, as are the permit rates, and we reserve the right to adjust such criteria and update such rates in our sole and unfettered discretion.

If you wish to cancel the application because the project does not proceed or for any other reason, please note that there are no refunds after you submit your application. If changes are made to the application after submission, the GTAA reserves the right to charge a subsequent fee.

Please note, GTAA reserves the right to implement an additional charge for a Crane Assessment that may impact Airport Operations and/or require a Runway closure or downgrade.
