Annual Toronto Pearson Safety Summit

The Toronto Pearson Safety Summit brings safety leaders and workers from across the airport to collaborate on innovative solutions that improve health, safety and security at Pearson.

Hosted by the Toronto Pearson Safety team, this annual event has evolved into an invaluable platform for identifying and addressing trending safety topics and areas of concern raised by members of the Pearson employee community. It also serves as a space for finding resolutions, drawing on the expertise and years of hands-on experience of each of the hand-chosen participants with deep knowledge of the airport safety landscape.

The 2025 Toronto Pearson Safety Summit

In September 2025, industry leaders, exhibitors and safety influencers from across Toronto Pearson — including airline partners, ground handlers, emergency services, civic leaders and executives — gathered to discuss how we can work together to innovate and elevate the way we work to maintain a safe, resilient operation.

“We are raising the bar together. Safety is our license to operate. It protects our reputation, our partnerships and the trust of millions of passengers.”
– Khalil Lamrabet, Chief Operating Officer, Toronto Pearson

Collaboration and how we can continue to strengthen the way teams work together across the airport ecosystem was the Summit’s central focus. Through a full day of expert-led panel discussions, presentations and break-out sessions, participants explored the key issues that shape daily operations at Pearson: reporting, data-driven decision making, emergency preparedness, infrastructure readiness and more. These conversations help ensure we stay ahead of the challenges that come with growth and increasing complexity.

“The strongest safety systems rely on people who feel empowered to speak up. Culture is what happens when no one is watching.”
– Dr. Joel Moody, Chief Prevention Officer of Ontario
