A Scene from the Late Jurassic
First launched in April 2004 in partnership with the Royal Ontario Museum, the display showcased two models cast from the museum’s collection of dinosaur fossils from the late-Jurassic period (150 million years ago).
The installation depicted an Othnielia Rex, a small and delicate plant eater, being pursued by an Allosaurus, a large and formidable predator. The scene unravelled against a backdrop of fossil-rich sedimentary rocks of the Morrison Formation.
