As part of National AccessAbility Week, running from May 31 to June 6, Pearson partnered with Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCIO) and Air Canada to help participants with spinal cord injuries build confidence and familiarity with air travel.
Pearson was proud to once again partner with Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCIO) and Air Canada to host a hands-on travel rehearsal tour designed for individuals living with spinal cord injuries who were interested in learning more about accessible air travel.
Taking place during National AccessAbility Week, the three-hour session guided participants through key steps of the airport journey—including check-in, security screening and boarding—with support from Pearson and Air Canada staff every step of the way.
Participants also took part in live demonstrations of accessibility supports, including aisle chair use and transfer techniques, while exploring airport accessibility services, asking questions and gaining practical knowledge to help make future travel experiences more comfortable and accessible.
Building on the success of the inaugural rehearsal tour, the event reflected Pearson's ongoing commitment to accessibility, inclusion and community collaboration, helping ensure every traveller could navigate the airport with confidence.
