Creating capacity for passengers and cargo

Demand is forecasted at 65 million passengers annually by the early to mid 2030s, with more growth to come. LIFT’s Gateway is the planning and expansion project that ensures we’re ready.

What Gateway will deliver

New passenger terminal space

A modern terminal designed to accommodate future growth while creating a comfortable, welcoming, and memorable experience from arrival to departure.

A distinctly Toronto experience

Spaces that reflect the culture, diversity, and character of the Greater Toronto Area, giving passengers an authentic sense of place the moment they arrive.

Designed around the passenger journey

Intuitive layouts and clear wayfinding that make it easier for passengers to move through the airport from arrival to departure.

Built for the future

A flexible, future-ready terminal space designed to evolve alongside passenger needs, new technologies, and the growth of air travel for decades to come.

Where we are now?

The selection process is underway for two Progressive Design Build teams, with contract awards planned for late 2026.
