We listened to feedback about ambient noise and we're making changes

After listening to feedback from our passengers and airline partners, we’re testing new measures to reduce the level of ambient noise in the terminals and make announcements more effective.

Starting December 2, final boarding call announcements will no longer be made throughout the entire terminal. Gate change announcements will still be made throughout the terminal, as needed.

Final boarding calls and live announcements will only be played in the assigned passenger lounge directly adjacent to a flight’s gate.

If not waiting at their gate, passengers can use flight information displays or torontopearson.com to monitor their flight.

This is a pilot program that will aim to gather feedback from passengers and employees, so we encourage you to send us your thoughts next time you travel through Pearson.

Passengers with accessibility requirements can visit our website to learn more about available resources, including the free Aira app. Aira connects passengers with sight loss to trained professionals who provide them with on-demand, personalized access to visual information using a smart phone or video-equipped smart glasses.

Aira does not replace accessibility assistance, which is provided by your air carrier, but it adds an additional layer of support for people with visual disabilities. Passengers with mobility requests should continue to contact their airline at least 48 hours in advance of travel to make arrangements directly with their airline provider.
