WhyYZ: What should I know about parking at the airport?

The WhyYZ series is a helpful guide that answers questions about your experience at our Healthy Airport. We feature experts from across the Toronto Pearson community, answering frequently asked questions so that when you’re ready to travel, you can feel confident that we’ll help you do it safely.

We recently spoke with Greg, Manager, Parking and Revenue Management, who shares a few things you should know about parking at Pearson.

Hi Greg. I need to park at the airport. What are my options?

From long-term parking to curbside pick-up, Pearson has options for all your Toronto airport parking needs. Our Terminal Garages offer on-site parking without the need for shuttles or trains. Park in a covered garage that is connected to the terminal via a climate-controlled walkway. Whether for business or leisure travel, Daily Park Garage offers you a comfortable parking experience.

The Value Park Garage reopened on October 1 to provide additional capacity and convenience. It is located at 6145 Viscount Road and is a quick 6-to-12-minute ride from Terminals 1 and 3 on the complimentary Terminal Link train, which runs every 4 minutes. All train cars are cleaned regularly every day, including being fogged with disinfectant once per day. The Link has resumed dual train service as of October 1, helping to reduce the amount of overcrowding on the cars.

The maximum height for vehicles entering Value Park Garage is 2.2 metres.

I’m going to be picking up a passenger on an arriving flight. What do I need to know?

Today’s airport experience differs from pre-pandemic times. If you’re one of our meeters-and-greeters, here’s how you need to change the way you plan to meet your passenger:

  • If you are picking up an international passenger, you should arrive 1-3 hours after their scheduled landing. They will need to clear customs before meeting you.
  • When you arrive at the airport, you cannot come inside. Stay in your car and park in a cell phone waiting area, then make contact with your phone.
  • Express Pass allows you to park in our covered garages in Terminals 1 and 3 for up to 18 minutes for free when picking up or dropping off passengers. Express Pass is a safe, contactless parking option and is a free alternative to waiting curbside at our terminals.
