Using a smartphone camera, you connect by video call to a trained Aira agent who describes your surroundings and helps guide you through the airport in real time.
Important to know: If you have mobility requests, please contact your airline at least 48 hours before travelling. Aira provides visual guidance only and does not replace airline accessibility assistance. Aira is an added layer of support for passengers with visual disabilities.
How it works
You can use the app on cellular or Wi-Fi data at the airport. Data charges may apply. You must bring your mobility aid (like a cane or service animal) when using the app.
- Download the Aira Explorer App (available for iOS or Android).
- Open the app and choose the prompt “Tap to use Aira as a Guest for FREE!”
- Register with your email and phone number. You'll get a text message to verify your number.
- Once you’re connected, tap the phone icon in the app to talk to a trained Aira agent. The agent will ask what you’d like help with.
