People of Pearson: Lovleen

“My name is Lovleen and I started working at Pearson over a decade ago, when I was a teenager. My family opened up the A&W restaurant in Terminal 1 and I began as a part-time crew member while I was in high school. I would often wake up at the crack of dawn and go with my mother to the airport to be there in time for the busy breakfast rush!

“Since then, I've never lost my connection with the airport. Even throughout university summers I would work part time, ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I moved on to get my Master of Business Administration (MBA).

“Currently, I work as the Director of Operations for my family business which franchises A&W restaurants, but Pearson will always remain my home. It was emotional last year when we moved locations within the airport because it felt like I was leaving part of my childhood!

“Preparing the restaurant for all the different seasons of the year with different business patterns is one of my favorite parts of the job; gearing up for summer business, then again for the holidays… it brings me a lot of joy.

“The energy at Toronto Pearson will always be one of the most special things I've experienced in my working career. It really feels like home.”
