What are diverted flights?

A diverted flight is one that has been routed from its original arrival to a new temporary airport.

What happens now?

The majority of diversions are temporary, and you should expect a delayed arrival at Pearson Airport. In a few cases, the flight is cancelled, and the airline will accommodate passengers on a new flight.

Why do diverted flights happen?

Diversions happen for many reasons. The most frequent ones are adverse weather conditions and health emergencies onboard.
