“We’ve Been Here” art exhibition in Terminal 1 opens today

We are committed to helping lift up our neighbouring communities through sponsorships, partnerships and creating space for everyone to be seen and be heard. This includes working with our partners to help bring their initiatives to light and empower them.

With Human Rights Day marked by the United Nations upcoming on December 10, and to showcase and celebrate some of the unique talents among our partners, the Malton Airport Gallery in our terminal will host an art exhibit entitled “We’ve Been Here” until January 31. The exhibit is in partnership with JAYU, a Canadian charity that shares human rights stories through art, and their exhibit features stunning self portraits and poetry created by local Indigenous youth.

On display are 16 portraits and 8 accompanying poetic statements that will be sure to inspire. If you’re travelling through the airport, be sure to stop by the exhibit and admire the impressive works of art.

The Malton Airport Gallery is located in Terminal 1, domestic departures across from the pharmacy.
