Though rooted deeply in hockey, Wayne Gretzky’s family also had a history in wine. Wayne’s grandfather picked and pressed his own grapes, carefully tended his collection of wooden barrels and bottled his own wine. Inspired by this tradition, Wayne began producing his own collection of wines and soon expanded to distilling spirits, opening the first combined winery and distillery in Ontario in 2017.
Passengers who stop by one of the Gretzky Estates pop-ups at Pearson will get a glimpse of a number of rare and unseen photos from No. 99’s formative years. As well as a peek into the past, passengers can sample ice wine, ice-cask whiskey and fresh Ontario cream liquor, walking away with 10% off select Gretzky Estates products at our airport’s Duty Free stores.
