Over 200 North American airports including Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton, and Calgary offer their passengers ride sharing services.
As a result, we launched a ride sharing pilot program in June 2018. During the pilot, passenger surveys showed that travellers were strongly in favour of the service.
- 99% of passengers stated that ride sharing pick-up services has a very favourable or neutral impact on their perception of Pearson; only 1% said it has an unfavourable impact on their perception.
- Ride share users are highly satisfied with their ground transportation experience to/from Pearson Airport (87% rated us 4 or 5 out of 5), and are also highly satisfied with their pick-up experience from Pearson Airport (86% rated us 4 or 5 out of 5)
The strong positive response has shown that ride sharing is an important method of transportation. Passengers expect it at a major international airport. along with other transportation options such as taxis, limos, and public transit.
The pilot program ends on December 13, 2019. Ride sharing services will continue to be available as one of the many transportation options at the airport.
