Mike has volunteered as a chaplain since 2018 and his career with the airport has spanned over two decades, recently celebrating his 20th anniversary with us.
The role of Senior Chaplain has evolved over the years, and today includes duties such as:
- Crisis Support in conjunction with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority Emergency Response Team (ERT)
- Offering a range of counselling & prayer support to employees and passengers
- Orchestrating popular celebratory events for religious holidays, memorial days, and more
- Leading daily worship services
Pearson Airport has benefited from the role of a Senior Chaplain since the 1970s when Reverend Philip Philips began this ministry. Most recently, the role was filled by Peter King, whose last day was celebrated on December 16, 2020. Mike is looking forward to serving the Pearson community through spiritual wellness and we wish him the very best in his new role. Welcome, Mike!
