Airport policies changing to help create Healthy Airport environment

As we all adapt to fight the spread of COVID-19, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority has made changes to airport policies. These new policies are part of our Healthy Airport Transformation, prioritizing the health and wellbeing of passengers and airport workers.

One of the most important changes that all travellers need to be aware of is the requirement to wear a face covering that covers your mouth and nose. Vented masks are not allowed, as they may not meet the required standards to prevent the spread of droplets carrying COVID-19.

Here are some other new policies that you should be aware of:

  • Only travelling passengers and employees on duty are allowed inside the airport. We ask that family say their hellos and goodbyes outside on the curb.
  • Drivers are not allowed to park on the arrivals curb. If you are picking up a passenger, use the free Cell Phone Waiting Area to park and wait to be contacted by your passenger.
  • All passengers are temperature screened by CATSA before entering security. Depending on the airline you are travelling with, you may have your temperature taken a second time by airline staff.

These new policies are in place to help create a healthy airport environment, working in combination with a suite of advanced new technology and the efforts of hundreds of cleaning staff.
