Our airport employees are leaders in making connections that matter and working together to positively impact and uplift our neighbours so that they reach their full potential.
This December, teams from around the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) worked together to give back to some of the most vulnerable of our community – families who have been severely impacted by the pandemic.
Through the Salvation Army’s Adopt-a-Family program, our collective goal was to support 20 families in need by either purchasing basic items on each of their wishlists or making a cash donation through our Pearson Gives Back fund.
This year, we were pleased to have surpassed our goal, adopting 23 families and raising $6380 that went directly to the Salvation Army’s Honeychurch Family Life Resource Centre, serving abused women and their children fleeing family violence or intimate partner abuse in the Brampton area.
Because airport employees exceeded their goal, we topped up the donation by $5000 for a grand total donation of over $11,100, a significant contribution to our region’s most vulnerable at this special time of year.
The holiday Adopt-a-Family drive is just one way our airport employees give back, helping the communities Toronto Pearson serves.
