Dr. Edward Wasser joins Toronto Pearson as Chief Medical Officer

Our Healthy Airport initiative was launched in June 2020 with the main goal of keeping passengers and employees safe and healthy. Since then, Toronto Pearson has continued to introduce new measures and innovative technologies to that end, collaborating with a wide range of health officials, government agencies and companies in the process. We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Edward Wasser as our Chief Medical Officer, as part of our continued commitment to our Healthy Airport initiative.

Dr. Wasser has over 20 years of experience in emergency medicine and VIP protective medicine. His wealth of experience includes being the Medical Director for the Prime Minister of Canada's Protective Detail of the RCMP, including emergency support for the last four Prime Ministers and the Medical Director for the RCMP National Tactical Medicine Program. He is the Clinical Lead for the Executive Health Program at Cleveland Clinic Canada. Dr. Wasser received his Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University, a Master’s Degree in Counterterrorism from the London Metropolitan University in London England and a Harvard Fellowship Certificate in Disaster Medicine, Executive Healthcare and Dignitary Protective Medicine.

The guidance and advice of the Chief Medical Officer is critical to ensuring we are providing science-based solutions for the health and safety of our employees and passengers.
