Arriving takes longer; here’s how to adjust

Today's airport experience differs from pre-pandemic times. Due to new government travel requirements, you may experience additional screening, health checks and delays. These changes to the passenger experience also affect how you make plans to pick up an arriving passenger.

If you’re a passenger, the arrivals process for international travellers could take three hours or longer depending on your specific set of circumstances.

If you’re one of our meeters-and-greeters, here’s how you need to change the way you plan to meet your passenger:

  • If you are picking up an international passenger, you should arrive 1-3 hours after their scheduled landing. They will need to clear customs before meeting you.
  • When you arrive at the airport, you cannot come inside. Stay in your car and park in a cell phone waiting area, then make contact with your phone.
  • Consider using the Departure and Ground level curbs to meet your passenger when they’re ready for pick-up, to avoid congestion.
  • Express Pass allows you to park in our covered garages in Terminals 1 and 3 for up to 18 minutes for free when picking up or dropping off passengers. Express Pass is a safe, contactless parking option and is a free alternative to waiting curbside at our terminals.
