• Obtaining a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)

    New applicants must contact their employer’s signing authority to submit their application for review and schedule appointments.

    Renewing applicants are required to schedule an appointment for:

    • A Transportation Security Clearance (TSC)
    • A Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)

     

    There are three (3) steps to obtaining a RAIC:

    1. Complete the Airport Security Awareness Training
    2. Apply for a Transportation Security Clearance (TSC)
    3. Apply for a Restricted Area Identity Card

    2. Apply for a Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) – Need help? Read our Guide.

      a) Complete the online application for Transportation Security Clearance (TSC).This must be submitted online and then printed. It must also be authorized (signed) by a pre-established company signing authority. (NOTE: Handwritten application forms will not be accepted. After the application has been submitted, any further change requires the application to be completed accurately in its entirety and resubmitted online. Only the last version submitted online will be reviewed and it must match the printed copy submitted at the Pass Office.)

      b) Applicants, new or renewing, must bring the following original applications and original identification to the GTAA Pass Permit Control Office for their appointment:

      1. A completed Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) application
      2. A completed Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) application
      3. Original identification and a photocopy of each (both sides) required are:
        • A Canadian Birth Certificate (only Quebec birth certificates issued after January 1994 are accepted) or;
        • A Canadian Citizenship card or;
        • A VALID Permanent Residence Card and A Landed Immigration document (IMM1000) and;
        • Original valid passport (If not valid – provide valid Canadian Government issued photo ID and;
        • Valid Driver’s License (if applicable).
       
    3. Apply for a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) (Applicants must successfully complete the Airport Security Awareness Training and hold a valid Transportation Security Clearance prior to applying for a RAIC)
      To apply for a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC):

      • Complete an application for Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC). Print the application and have it authorized (signed) by a pre-established company signing authority. The original application is required at your appointment.
      • Bring a completed Keycard Application form (if required).
      • Bring Government-issued photo ID.
      • Bring any/all security items issued by the Pass Permit Control Office.
