• Connecting Guide

    Here are a few things to keep in mind if you’re connecting through Toronto Pearson, and a few things to help you fill the time between your flights.

  • Baggage and Process

     
    Connecting to the US within Terminals 1 & 3

    Confirm with your airline that your baggage is tagged to your connecting flight. If so, proceed to the US Customs connection baggage claim belt in the corresponding terminal to retrieve your baggage. Once you have your baggage proceed through US Customs & Border and Protection for processing, followed by security screening.

    If your baggage is not tagged to your final destination, follow the Baggage Claim signs to retrieve your baggage, and then proceed to your airline’s check in area.  

    Connecting within Canada within Terminals 1 & 3

    Confirm with your airline that your baggage is tagged to your final destination. If so, follows the signs to your departure gate. There are various flight information screens (FIDS) throughout the terminal which display your gate information.

    If your baggage is not tagged to your final destination, follow the Baggage Claim signs to retrieve your baggage, and then proceed to your airline’s check in area.

    Connecting to an International flight within Terminal 1 (excluding US)

    Confirm with your airline that your baggage is tagged to your final destination. If so, follows the signs to your connecting gate.

    If your baggage is not tagged through to your final destination please follow the Baggage Claim signs to retrieve your baggage for Canada Customs processing. Then proceed to your airline’s check in area.

    Connecting to an International flight within Terminal 3 (excluding US)

    Confirm with your airline that your baggage is tagged to your final destination. If so, follows the signs to your connecting gate.

    If your baggage is not tagged through to your final destination follow the baggage claim signs to retrieve your checked baggage and then proceed to your airline check in area.

    Toronto Pearson has one of the most efficient baggage claims anywhere. If you need to claim your baggage here, you can easily find it using our  terminal maps.   

     

    Connecting Between Terminals

     

    The fastest way to get around is using the LINK train. It’s free, wheelchair accessible, and connects you to terminals 1 & 3 in minutes.

     

    Things To Do Between Flights

     

    If you have a little time to spend at Toronto Pearson between flights, check out some of the great shops, handy services and top-notch restaurants. Whatever you’re in the mood for, you’ll find it here.

     

    Longer Layovers
